![]() Fish is all we saw and we did not see many of them. This is a risky activity in that you MAY see turtles, sting rays, or sharks, but it is more likely you will only see fish. Despite how sunny it was, the water was not very clear and about half of the time there was nothing outside our window. We honestly feel angry about how much we spent for how little marine life we saw. The booking process was easy, the staff and crew were friendly, but the experience itself was incredibly underwhelming. On 11/12/19, my girlfriend and I did the submarine tour off of Waikiki beach on Oahu. Go in the morning if you can because in general that's when you usually see more sea life. Note it is expensive, but from what we remember it's worth it. Just check the weather of the day you want to book and don't book on or near a holiday. Either way we appreciated the call giving us a heads up and have received a refund on the credit card. Obviously they can't tell anyone that because it would make them look bad. There were boats and people all over the water that morning, so I'm pretty sure that's what it was. ![]() High winds weren't expected until that afternoon night, so my guess is there were a lot of staff that didn't show up (it was the morning of December 24th). It was windy that day, however here's my problem. They were very nice and offered a tour for another day, but we were leaving that night, so we couldn't do it. On our way to check-in I received a call they had canceled the tour due to weather conditions. We were staying at a nearby hotel, so we walked to the check in desk by the Hilton Hawaiian village. We had done a tour with them 15 years before and were looking forward to this tour. I booked the Premium Submarine tour for December 24th. If you do decide to try your luck, go for the bigger submarine the extra money is worth it just to be sat comfortably. This was not only a waste of money but most importantly a waste of time. Towards the end, I was just glad to get back on the boat and get on with my day. We were sat on the side that barely had any fishes which was even more disappointing. One turtle and some fishes here and there and that's it. The guides were nice but didn't distract from the fact that we barely saw any fishes. I thought t was quite small still and we were very close to other people. Once at the submarine, I couldn't believe this was the best option. The snacks and drinks are overpriced so bring your own. The guide on the boat was hilarious (can't remember his name) and made the right so entertaining that we had no doubt the submarine tour would be great. ![]() We waited around a bit and finally got on the boat which takes you to the submarine. As this was a treat, we went for the upgrade option which is the bigger boat and larger window. WE were brought to this beautiful sunny beach near the Hilton and were excited about the trip we were about to take. ![]() We were picked up by the Atlantis tour bus and had a nice ride. WE booked our tour via a travel agent and thought the $100+ dollars would be worth it for the adventure. As we are not strong swimmers we left out the snorkelling but still wanted the experience of seeing fishes in their natural element. ![]() My friend and were very excited about this trip. ![]()
